David Jones has called Hay-on-Wye his home for his entire life. After retiring from an almost two decades’ long career with Dyfed Powys Police, David started David M Jones & Partners with his wife Carolyn in 1993.

Being well known and respected in the community, business grew steadily with clients from agriculture, hospitality and building trades.  

​

In 2002, the firm moved to the current premises at Brooklands: a large former bed & breakfast right on the border between England and Wales with plenty of parking and room to expand.

 

Owen joined his parents in the practice in 2011. He brings direct experience of several industries, including hospitality, logistics, tourism and retail.

​

We now have a staff of around twelve, nearly all of whom have been with us for several years, with specialists in VAT, corporate clients, accounts production and personal tax. We invest in keeping our team up to date with regular training courses and we use industry-leading software to manage all our clients’ accounting and tax needs.

​

We believe we best serve our clients by getting to know them, and we like to spend the time to understand the way they do business. It is not unusual to visit a farm or a client’s home and notice something that could affect someone’s tax position. It’s also a more personal and friendly way to run our business.
